Code of Conduct for Coaches, Parents/Guardians, and Team Leaders
1. Purpose of this Code
This Code of Conduct ("Code") outlines the standards of behaviour expected from coaches, parents/guardians, and team leaders ("Representatives") involved in competitions run through the Platform. By registering participants, attending events, or acting in a supervisory capacity, Representatives agree to comply fully with this Code.
2. Commitment to honour the sport
Representatives agree to:
- Promote the values, traditions, and spirit of wushu taolu.
- Encourage discipline, respect, and sportsmanship in all participants.
- Support a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for athletes of all ages and abilities.
- Represent their club, team, or nation with integrity and professionalism.
Representatives are role models — their behaviour sets the tone for the entire event.
3. Fair play and integrity
Representatives must:
- Encourage athletes to compete fairly, honestly, and respectfully.
- Not pressure athletes to cheat, manipulate results, or behave unsportingly.
- Accept judges' decisions with professionalism, even when disagreeing.
- Not attempt to influence judges, officials, or scoring panels.
- Not engage in or encourage any form of gamesmanship or rule-bending.
Fair play is a shared responsibility.
4. Anti-manipulation and competition integrity

Any attempt to manipulate results is a serious breach of this Code.
5. Anti-bribery and improper influence
Representatives must:
- Not offer, request, or accept any gift, payment, favour, or benefit intended to influence judging or competition outcomes.
- Not attempt to bribe judges, officials, or other participants.
- Not engage in behind-the-scenes lobbying, intimidation, or persuasion.
- Report immediately any attempt by another person to engage in bribery or improper influence.
Bribery is grounds for removal from the event and potential referral to authorities.
6. Anti-doping and athlete welfare
Representatives must:
- Ensure athletes do not use banned substances or performance-enhancing drugs.
- Promote safe training practices and healthy preparation.
- Not pressure athletes to train or compete while injured or unwell.
- Prioritise athlete wellbeing over competitive success.
Athlete welfare always comes first.
7. Safeguarding children and vulnerable people

- Maintain appropriate supervision ratios.
- Never use abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour.
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- Not communicate privately with minors in inappropriate ways (including online).

Representatives must:
- Ensure athletes' equipment, clothing, and apparatus are safe and fit for purpose.

- Raise concerns through proper channels, not through confrontation.
- Not approach judges during competition unless authorised.
